Many
warehouses built today are being fitted with multi storey mezzanines,
and contrary to many people’s beliefs, air distribution with mezzanine
areas differs significantly from a conventional warehouse solution.
Warehouse operators seem to think that the air will just find its way
into these mezzanine areas because they are fitted within a ventilated
space; the reality is that this is not the case.
The
main issues that require careful consideration are overheating of
occupants and lack of ventilation. Over heating is due to solar gain
from close proximity to the roof and heat gains from lighting and other
mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems. It is particularly
critical to ensure that adequate ventilation is supplied into the body
of the mezzanine and the appropriate amount of supply air is delivered
to each level providing a comfortable and productive working
environment and meeting health and safety requirements.
ATS
JETFLO air induction nozzle systems are the ideal solution for creating
the desired climate control throughout the mezzanine areas. The JETFLO
system can provide heating, cooling and ventilation into the body of
the mezzanine to creating a comfortable and productive working
environment. Small diameter unobtrusive ductwork is used to deliver the
treated air into the body of mezzanine via a series of self balancing
JETFLO nozzles. The ductwork system is connected to a centralised
air-handling unit (AHU) located internally or externally or at high or
low level.
JETFLO AHU’s, electrical cooling condensers and gas fired cooling condensers, are all listed under the Government Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme
(ECA) allowing the end client to claim 100% capital allowances on
listed equipment and associated installation costs – potentially
recovering up to 50% of the capital outlay within the first tax year.
